Deleting code as a practice

On the strange, useful habit of opening a pull request whose only job is to remove things.

The best engineers I have worked with all share one habit: every few weeks, they open a pull request titled something like 'cleanup' or 'remove dead code' and quietly delete a thousand lines nobody noticed were there.

Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.
